Bio

After graduating from the University of Colorado last spring, Maren participated in a NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) program supporting outdoor education in Tucson, Arizona. As a Denver native, she became interested in the Mile High Youth Corps once she found out that the crew would be traveling to the Gulf Coast. She has always been “drawn” to the South, and was even more compelled to visit the area after the storm devastated the region. Maren is excited about hearing the stories of the survivors, and she’s hoping to have a meaningful experience in which she contributes to the rebuilding process while preserving the integrity of the culture. After completion of the program, she hopes to take a backpacking road trip to find her next adventure.
